In the beginning test trials for cars, scrambles and grass track meetings for Motor Cycles were the order of the day, but before long the club were organising a full schedule of events Veteran/Vintage Runs, Autocross, Speed Events, Hill Climbs, Navigation Runs, Treasure Hunts and other social events. Autocrosses were being organised from Dungarvan to Urlingford and Araglin to Mullinahone, Fethard and Holycross. Hill climbs took place at Dungarvan, Punchbowl, Ballylaneen and Glen of Aherlow and speed events at Kilsheelan and Dundrum.
Mayoral Reception given by Ald Carrie Acheson Mayor of Clonmel on the occasion of Marie Moloney and Donie Keating's success in the Circuit of Ireland.
The events organised by the club attracted the cream of Irish Motor Sport enthusiasts Rosemary Smith, Paddy Hopkirk, Mick Ivis, the first man to win the Sexton Trophy in a Saloon car and who by coincidence later came to live in Clonrnel and become one of the club's most successful chairmen.
The club was not without producing its own heros and heroines - Frank Meagher (RIP) an overall winner in the Circuit of Ireland, first person from the republic to win the Manx Rally, as well as numerous other victories at national level, Gus Kearney winner of the Castlereagh Trophy and a class win in the Circuit of Ireland, Donie Keating's third placing overall in the circuit, Marie Molony's win in the Lady's Class and her third placing on another occasion with Jos Grogan beside her.
In 1966 the club acquired limited liability status arranged by the then Hon. Sec Mary A. McGrath with Auditor McNamaras of Limerick.
The club would like to acknowledge the help it has received over the past 50 odd years and thank sincerely all concerned: Irish Red Cross, St. John's Ambulance, Doctors, Civil Defence, Various Co. Councils, Gardai, Marshals, RlAC Stewards, the help of other Clubs, Sponsors, Special Stage Residents, Timekeepers, Treasurers Clerks of the course, the Press and of course the competitors without whom there would be no events. A big thank you to all.
